When reporting a problem, it helps to include the letters you entered, what you expected, and what happened instead. For app issues, your device model and iOS version are useful too.

Using Anagrove

1. Enter your letters. Type the letters you have into the "Your letters" box and press Find Words. Anagrove checks a dictionary of roughly 270,000 words and returns every word you can spell from them — not just full-length anagrams, but all the shorter words hidden inside your letters too.

2. Use a wildcard for blank tiles. Type ? or * anywhere in your letters and it will stand in for any letter. You can use more than one.

3. Read the results. Words are grouped by length with the longest first, so your biggest plays are at the top. The small number beside each word is its tile value. Tap or click any word to copy it.

Browsing word lists

Beyond the search tool, the site has hundreds of ready-made lists — words by length and starting letter, words grouped by common endings, and every word you can make from a given set of letters. Start at Browse word lists.

Frequently asked

Why did my game reject a word Anagrove found? Anagrove uses a broad, openly licensed English word list — not the official Scrabble or Words With Friends tournament dictionaries, which are proprietary. Most words match, but a small number differ. Turning on "Hide rare / obscure words" reduces the unusual results.

Why is a valid word missing? No word list is exhaustive. If you spot a word you believe should be included, email us and we'll take a look.

Does Anagrove collect my data? No. See our Privacy Policy for details.
